Attendance

At Peartree Spring Primary, we aim for the whole school community to be committed to high standards of attendance and punctuality. We aim to encourage and assist all pupils to achieve excellent levels of attendance and punctuality, enabling them to take full advantage of the educational opportunities available to them.

Good school attendance is linked to academic success. Pupils are able to maintain friendships and achieve well if their attendance is good.

We understand that some absence due to illness may be unavoidable.  However, it is important that as a school we are kept informed of reasons for absence so that it can be authorised. We ask that parents continue to work with us by providing proof of medical appointments.

Parents whose children are regularly late for school, will be monitored by the attendance administrative assistant and the attendance lead who will write to and work with parents to improve punctuality.

Parents must also be aware that Peartree Spring Primary school will not authorise family holidays during term time except in exceptional/extenuating circumstances. Parents requesting a family holiday or leave of absence during term time must apply in writing to the Headteacher.

The school’s target attendance for 2018 - 2019 is 96%.
